Oggy and the Cockroaches (ऑगी ऐण्ड द कॉक्रोचेस) (French: Oggy et les Cafards (ऑगी एट लेस कफ़ार्स)) is a French comedy animated television series produced by Gaumont Multimedia (1st two seasons) and Xilam Animation (3rd season onwards), and created by Jean-Yves Raimbaud, co-creator of Space Goofs, who sadly died during production of Oggy's 1st season. The show employs silent comedy: characters either do not speak, or use unintelligible vocalizations and gestures. show premiered in September 1998 on France 3, and later expanded internationally.
In 2022, a 3rd Hindi dub of show was made, which aired on Sony Yay! that year. It is unknown when the show started to air in India on Cartoon Network India, Nick India, and Sony Yay!. Only the first Hindi dub of the show is available for viewing on Netflix India.
On July 28, 2022, a reboot of the show was released on Netflix, which was called Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation, which is about Oggy taking care of a pink elephant from India called Piya. The Hindi version of it is also available for viewing on Netflix India.
Also, on August 24, 2022, a prequel series to the show, Oggy Oggy was released on Netflix, which is about Oggy's cockroach-free adventures. It had three seasons, which premiered on Netflix from August 24, 2022 - October 16, 2023. The Hindi version of it is also available for viewing on Netflix India.
